Checkpoint AL 3

Many of the bicycles available are designed for use on smooth roads, and it is not comfortable to ride them on gravel and similar surfaces. To overcome this problem, Checkpoint has designed the Checkpoint AL 3 which is the entry level bike for use on gravel and other surfaces. The bike is available in six different sizes, 44, 49, 52, 54, 56 and 58 and the buyer should choose the right bike based on the height of the bike rider. The smallest size 44 is for riders of height five feet, and the largest size is suitable for riders of height six feet.

Construction

To keep the weight of the bicycle low, while ensuring that it is strong enough to be used on rough gravel surfaces, the frame of the bike is made from alpha aluminum series. There is a provision for rack mounting and fender mounting to carry items while traveling a long distance. The cable management system from control freak will keep the shift, brake housing enclosed so that it does not interfere with the movement of the bike rider. The fork used is made of carbon fiber so that it will absorb any shock while riding over rough surfaces, for a comfortable ride. The bicycle is designed to carry a weight of 275 lb

Drive train

The bicycle has a Shimano Sora front derailleur, rear derailleur, shifter, crank , cassette and chain. It has a 9 speed drive train for smooth speed changes. The bike has a flat mount disc brake system which is smaller, lighter and has more power while stopping compared to the conventional brakes used in bicycles. The bicycle is compatible with Duotrap S, which allows Bluetooth, ANT sensors to measure the various parameters like the speed.

Wheels

The bicycle is having the latest technology tubeless ready (TRL) system for the road wheels. This ensures that the wheels require lower pressure and offer greater traction on the road. The wheels have stainless steel spokes. Though 700 X 32 Bontranger Hard-case tires are supplied with the bicycle, the user can use wider tires up to 38C in size.
